Production Assistant

Gloucestershire - Salary £25,000-£28,000

We are seeking a Production Assistant, for a machinery manufacturer in Tewkesbury, to assist in the management of the Production Department to ensure all new machine builds are despatched in a timely manner.

About you:

You will probably be a recent graduate in some aspect of Production Management or Operations Control. You may have some job experience & are now looking for a career in an engineering or machine building environment. You will be looking for an interesting & varied job where you can learn new skills. As those skills develop you will be looking to be financially rewarded.

Main Duties:

• To assist our Production Manager in managing our manufacturing resources in such a way that we achieve our monthly and annual production output & gross profit targets.
• To use our ERP software (SAP Business One) to create Production Orders for machine projects, run MRP & generate associated Pick & Pack lists.
• To assist on a day‐to‐day basis with the solving of shop‐floor production issues.
• To support our Stores Department by assisting in kitting of projects in a timely manner.
• To identify and control parts which require additional work. To create Service Orders with sub‐contractors to cover any additional work required.
• To work with our Buyer to schedule deliveries, liaise with suppliers and, if necessary, raise purchase orders.
• To support the Spare Parts Departments in the timely despatch of all spare parts orders.
• You will also assist the creation and reviews of Risk Assessments. You will be expected to keep all MSDS up to date.
